Terms of use
Conditions of access to Boreal Times.
Draft for legal review. Written for a publisher established in Norway with readers in Brazil and elsewhere. It must be checked by counsel in both regimes before billing goes live.
1. Publisher and scope
Boreal Times is a periodical journalistic publication with access restricted to subscribers, published by Boreal Times AS, a company registered in Norway. These terms govern access to the site and its content.
2. Nature of the content
The content is journalistic and informational. It is not investment advice, securities analysis, or financial, tax or legal counsel. The publication is not a licensed analyst or registered adviser in any jurisdiction. Decisions about assets taken on the basis of what is read here are the reader’s sole responsibility.
3. Subscription and access
Subscriptions are personal, named and non-transferable, tied to the email address given at payment. Sharing access, redistributing issues or reproducing content for third parties permits suspension of the subscription.
Access is confirmed by a link sent to the subscription email. There is no password.
4. Billing
Billing is handled by Stripe and invoiced by the Norwegian publisher. It recurs until the subscriber cancels, which can be done at any time from the billing portal without contacting support. Access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
Prices are shown in US dollars in the English edition and in Brazilian reais in the Portuguese edition. Settlement occurs in Norwegian kroner; your card issuer may apply its own conversion.
5. Right of withdrawal
Readers in the European Economic Area, including Norway, have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract. On subscribing, you may consent to immediate delivery of digital content, which ends that right; the consent is recorded at payment.
Readers in Brazil have seven calendar days to withdraw from an online contract with a full refund, under article 49 of the Consumer Defence Code.
6. Intellectual property
Text, tables, price series and visual identity are protected by applicable copyright law. Short quotations with attribution and a link are permitted. Full reproduction, translation and derivative works require written permission.
7. Subscriber conduct
Subscribers may not extract content by automated means, circumvent access controls, or use the price series to build a competing product.
8. Availability and liability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Save for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and within the limits of applicable law, liability is capped at the amount paid by the subscriber in the twelve months preceding the event.
9. Changes
Material changes are notified by email thirty days in advance. Subscribers who disagree may cancel with a pro-rata refund.
10. Governing law
Norwegian law applies. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer protections available in your country of habitual residence.
